Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is the treatment of choice for permanently removing hair!
Laser hair removal typically requires 4-8 treatments, spaced out over different intervals of 4 to 8 weeks to permanently remove unwanted hair.
Some clients have had success with just 2 treatments! Laser hair removal can leave skin feeling silky smooth and free of unwanted hair. Depending on what stage your hair growth is in, will depend on how many treatments you will require. The light of the laser travels down the hair follicle to the root and then eliminate the cells that grow the hair. Unfortunately, there is no way to determine the active stage you are in for the hair growth cycle.
There are three stages in hair growth:
Anagen is the growth phase. This is the optimal hair growth stage to have laser hair removal treatments completed. During this phase the hair follicle is still attached to the root and the laser will eliminate the nourishing cells that supply blood to the root to enable hair growth. If laser hair removal treatments are done during this phase the hair will not grow back unless there are major hormone shifts in the body such as pregnancy, poly cystic ovarian disease or hormone fluctuations associated with puberty and menopause.
Catagen is the transition phase. The hair follicle is no longer attached at the root and has begun the shedding process. When laser hair removal treatments are completed during this stage the hair growth will slow and become less coarse.
Telogen is the resting phase. The hair follicle is now close to the surface of your skin and is ready to fall out. When laser hair removal treatments are completed during this stage the hair will come in finer and later.
